Slowly emerging from an unsuspecting slab of wood, the skull of a falling King was discovered. Inspired by the work of Dr. Alan Grant, to whom this piece is dedicated to, each cut, gouge and contour revealed this ancient relic. The result is a meeting of wood, fossil and sculpture; a King long passed, waiting millions of years to be discovered yet again.
This Sculpture is based on the Tyrannosaurus Rex specimen known as The “Nations T.rex,” also known as the Wankel Rex on display at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of National History in Washington D.C. Discovered in 1988, the specimen is one of the most complete skeletons ever found.
The piece measures 79cm at the widest point and 50cm at it’s tallest. This sculpture mounts to the wall with a French cleat, though a stand could be produced on request if you would rather display it on a surface.
